Bad news for all Hauz Khas Village lovers (…or is it?), as 21 eating joints were shut down by the orders of the Delhi High Court. Lack of mandatory approvals as per environmental laws and improper hygiene maintenance have led to this shut down.

Dubbed as a ticking time bomb, these eating joints were even given show cause notices just earlier this month, none of which were paid any heed to. The result of a PIL filed, these restaurants were told of the lack of sewage systems not being good enough to handle the waste they generated, kitchens running without grease taps, serving food in disposable plates and other violations.

Owners of these restaurants however, have denied being given any notices before this move.
