Parmish Varma is a well-known name today. But it took the singer almost a decade of struggle to reach where he is today. The singer, best known for the hit Gaal Ni Kadni, opened up on his journey on the India Today Mind Rocks 2018 stage in Delhi, during a session titled Desi Beats: Punjabi Style.

JOURNEY TO STARDOM

My dad is a professor of Punjabi literature. I wasn't very good in studies initially. I had ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) and couldn't focus. It was my dad who gave me the push that I needed. It was my decision to go abroad and then come back to India. I started my journey in 2007. It took me almost 10 years to get where I am today. When I was in Australia, I learnt bar-tending in a restaurant. I saw people making videos and I started making my own videos.



SOCIAL-MEDIA STARDOM

I kept working, my followers kept increasing. If you see my five-year-old photos, they too had such likes.

MY ROOTS

I am very proud of my roots. I represent Punjab. I feel be it anything - talent or gallery - Punjab has given birth to so many warriors.
I think I just do what I love doing. I four films coming out next year.
